The mobile phone market can boast of a pretty good number of handsets applying car theme: remember the Hammer by Fly, Ferrari and Porsche phones. This time we have another interesting handset, in addition to car design it kept the form.

The device is packed in the popular Audi TT coupe form. It looks like a car toy from the top, make it upside down to reveal a real mobile phone with a 2” touchscreen (260K colors) and the support of MP3, MP4 and other formats. HUAWEI C5330 CDMA phone: a successor to SE clone

It isn’t a big secret that many 3rd echelon mobile phone makers often copy design from big brands. The same story happened with the Chinese maker HUAWEI and its CDMA C5330 handset (today the FCC site posted the info about it).

If you are familiar with the SE lineup, it won’t be hard for you to see similar design features in HUAWEI C5330 and the Walkman phones. However SE phones are mainly designed for the GSM/UMTS market and CDMA models will hardly go outside Japan. That’s why CDMA phone makers (including HUAWEI) try to copy popular GSM models.

As for the technical part за HUAWEI C5330, it is as follows:

  • SMS and MMS messaging
  • microSD cards (hot swap)
  • Media player supporting playlists and equalizer
  • Video player
  • Voice recorder
  • Built-in games
  • FM radio (87.5 MHz to 108 MHz)

One of the materials of the US Patent Office contains the info on a Nokia’s product. It seems to be closely related to the upcoming touch interface S60 Touch. This is a clamshell phone with two displays and one of them can be used as a touchscreen to control the device or a secondary display. The switch between two modes runs automatically depends on the opening angle. 160 degrees reveal the touch panel and 180 degrees (the full opening) make the secondary display. Naturally Nokia isn’t the pioneer with the idea of the touch display instead of the keyboard. However this very solution on the new S60 Touch interface might be very interesting.

    Sony Ericsson P5i concept

The Sefanatics has posted an interesting concept of Sony Ericsson P5i smartphone. The device is rumored to be on its way, however the manufacturer hasn’t made any official confirmation or provided official images. Taking into account (unconfirmed) info on an upcoming user’s interface UIQ (UIQ 4?) with figer control, the concept looks like to be true. It is equipped with a big display and has no keyboard. Most likely the mysterious Sony Ericsson P5i will be of this kind.
