5 new Nokia phones due tomorrow; we got them now

We received a whole bunch of press photos for Nokia’s announcement in London tomorrow, and decided to share with you. Supposedly there would be five phones all focused on entertainment. The N81 gaming phone, N95 music edition with 8GB memory built in, and XpressMusic series 5700, 5610 and 5310.

Official announcement of HTC TyTN II (Kaiser)

HTC has officially announced the release of HTC TyTN II communicator, known also under the codename HTC Kaiser. The device is aimed at business users, first of all. It has a side sliding QWERTY-keyboard and a display, which can be fixed at an angle to the keyboard. The TyTN II is powered by Windows Mobile 6 Professional.

The company will roll out HTC TyTN II in September in Europe together with leading operators, including Orange, T – Mobile and Vodafone. The Russian release is set for October. The recommended price is about $1160.

HTC to release UMPC Shift and 4 brand new products at Gitex 2007

HTC is planning to release its Windows Vista powered ultra mobile PC – HTC Shift at the Gitex Technology Week event, which starts on September 8 in Dubai. HTC Shift was unveiled this spring at CTIA WIRELESS. It features a 7” widescreen display, a QWERTY-keyboard, UMTS/HSDPA and GSM/GPRS/EDGE support and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.

In addition, Vishnu Vardhan, executive director for MEA (Middle East and Asia) region, confirmed in the interview to the Gitex newspaper that the company is about to exhibit 4 brand new products at the show. He hasn’t specified the models, but we suppose they are HTC TyTN II (HTC Kaiser), HTC Nike , HTC Polaris and HTC Omni. The products has been already rumored and probably we learn more at the Gitex show.

Vertu Constellation in Rose Gold.

Vertu has released a new handset of the Constellation series. Its shell is coated with rose gold and black leather. I’d remind you that first Constellation phones appeared last October. Vertu Constellation works in GSM/GPRS/EDGE (quad band) networks and is powered by Series 40 platform. It features a 208x208x262K color display, media player, voice recorder, Bluetooth and USB interfaces. As for the peculiar specs, the device has a sapphire glass, a keyboard with laser engraving and unique quarter turn locking mechanism.

LG KU990 with touch sensitive display,

There are some hot rumors on LG KU990 phone, which is supposed to be an heir of LG Prada. The new phone comes with a touch sensitive display and has no keyboard. Taking into account the picture, the device will be available from Vodafone in the US. In addition we’ve got the list of LG KU990’ detailed specs. However the info hasn’t been officially confirmed.

Nokia N95 8GB approved by FCC.

The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has certified Nokia N95 8GB smartphone and posted related documents on its site. Given it design has been somewhat changed. As expected the smartphone is black colored, its media buttons are slightly lifted upon the shell, control buttons on the front panel are smaller compared to the previous model, being modified the rear panel got the sliding camera cover. The main spec of Nokia N95 8GB remained the same as in the original model: GSM/EDGE support, 3G and HSDPA (2100 MHz), a 5-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, TV-out and so on, except for the internal memory size, which grew to 8GB.

The FCC manual gives some interesting info on the software of Nokia N95 8GB. Well, it mentions the support of Nokia Music Store (music online store to be launched soon) and N-Gage game console. Besides you can use Windows Media Player to transfer media from PC to the smartphone.

Nokia 6555 WCDMA clamshell.

Nokia has announced its Nokia 6555 phone. This is a clamshell with a specially designed hinge, which makes the rear side of it look integral when open.

Nokia 6555 works in GSM (quad band) and WCDMA networks. It comes with a QVGA 16M color display and an external display with an analog watch. The user can access 30 MB of memory (including a microSD card). In addition there is a camera with 6x zoom and Bluetooth interface. The sales start next month with the price tag of about €200 (taxes and discounts not included).


Verizon starts online sales of Motorola Q9m smartphone.

The American mobile service provider Verizon Wireless has started online sales of Motorola Q9m smartphone. The device was mentioned in the news under the codename Nelson. The smartphone is powered by Windows Mobile 6 and equipped with a landscape display and a QWERTY-keyboard. The price tag of Motorola Q9m in operator’s online store is $200 after a $100 special and $50 discounts (the initial price is set at $349.99).

HTC P3600 on WM6 to come out in Australia.

As you may know HTC P3600 (Trinity) communicator wasn’t included in the list for Windows Mobile 6 upgrade. But the company released HTC P3600i powered by WM 6 Professional in Australia. This is a slightly improved Trinity. In addition to the new OS the device got a more powerful processor – Samsung 500 MHz and 256 MB ROM (the original Trinity features a 400 MHz processor and 128 MB ROM). The rest specs remained the same – GSM/GPRS/EDGE and UMTS/HSDPA support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and a 2-megapixel camera.


The sales of HTC P3600i in Australia have already been launched at some $839. It’s not yet clear whether the communicator would be released in other regions and when.

Windows Mobile 6 for HTC Herald now

The European unit of HTC has release an official OS upgrade to Windows Mobile 6 for its QWERTY-communicator HTC P4350 (Herald). I’d remind you that O2 operator rolled out this April a version of the Herald platform with Windows Mobile 6 – Xda Terra. This time the vendor itself decided to offer a respective ROM-upgrade for the European users.

The WM 6 upgrade for HTC P4350 is free for download at My Downloads section after the registration at HTC eClub. The registration doesn’t require any payment and offers the users some additional advantages.

Nokia 6263: a GPS handset.

The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has approved Nokia 6263 handset. We’ve mentioned the product, when the company posted user’s profile on its site. An interesting thing about Nokia 6263 is that it’s the first Nokia’s device with GPS-functionality, not Symbian-based. This isn’t a smartphone, but a Series 40 powered phone.


The FCC specs are as follows: a QVGA display, Bluetooth interface, GSM (at least 850 and 1900 MHz) and UMTS (at least 1700 MHz).

Official announcement of Nokia BH-902 Bluetooth headset

Another new product of Nokia’s official list is a mono Bluetooth headset Nokia BH-902.

Nokia BH-902 features smooth lines, an external OLED display and integrated DSP (Digital Signal Processing of audio signal, improving its quality). Its external display is good for controlling incoming calls and phone pairing. In addition it displays info on missed calls, SMS, MMS. It weighs some 18.2 g and costs €115.

Early pics of Samsung SCH-U900

It has become a common thing when the pics of not-yet-announced phones leak to the Internet. This time phonearena.com posted “live” photos of Samsung SCH-U900, a clamshell phone designed for the networks of Verizon Wireless.

As we can see, the new model features nice design, a good display and a 3-megapixel camera. It doesn’t look too slim. Well, let’s wait for the official announcement and technical specs.

Nokia BH-903 stereo Bluetooth headset

Nokia’s announcement of today includes a new stereo Bluetooth headset Nokia BH-903. The device brings an OLED display and support of support for A2DP, AVRCP, PBAP, HFP and HSP Bluetooth profiles. It’s a kind of remote control, the users can operate various mobile and media devices.

Nokia BH-903 enables automatic switch to the incoming call and then back to the music. The 32-gram headset lasts for 15 hours of talk/music. It will be available for €200.

Nokia MD-7W Bluetooth speakers

Today Nokia unveiled compact wireless stereo speakers called MD-7W. This music accessory involves Bluetooth technology, 3D stereo widening sound and dynamic bass control.

The product was developed in collaboration with D&M Premium Sound Solutions, Hi-Fi products maker. According to the company, Nokia MD-7W Bluetooth speakers will be available worldwide, and the price tag will amount to €130.
